TCOMM 911 is the Public Safety Answering Point for all of Thurston County, Washington.

When to Call 911

You should call 911 when you or someone you are with is experiencing an emergency and needs help from fire, police, or ambulance.

Call First

If possible, you should always call 911 by phone. Be prepared to stay on the line with the operator. Try to stay calm and speak clearly.

Know Your Location

No matter whether you call or text, location information is crucial and is of primary importance. We can not send help if we don’t know where you are.

Text if You Can’t Call

Text messages to 911 should only be used to let 911 know you need help. Do not try to send photos or videos — they will slow the process down.

TCOMM911 is recognized by the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) under its Missing Kids Readiness Program (MKRP).  This designation identifies TCOMM911’s policy and training on missing children as meeting essential elements of the Standard for Public Safety Telecommunicators When Responding to Calls of Missing, Abducted and Sexually Exploited Children (APCO ANS 1.101.4-2022).

TCOMM911 is recognized by The Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO) for being APCO P33 certified.  APCO P33 is a program for public safety communications training programs across the nation.  The program requires agencies to meet or exceed the minimum training standards for Public Safety Telecommunicators.

Join TCOMM 911

TCOMM 911 is a countywide enhanced 911 emergency dispatch center. We provide quality services to our user agencies as well as to the citizens of Thurston County, Washington. Our work is important and is as demanding as it is rewarding.

Telecommunicator applications are accepted on an on-going basis. Applicants need not have previous experience to be successful at TCOMM 911.

A 501(c)(3) organization, Thurston 911 Communications (TCOMM 911) is a countywide enhanced 911 answering point and dispatch center for all law enforcement, fire services, and Medic One departments. TCOMM 911 serves all of the cities, towns, and unincorporated areas within Thurston County.

TCOMM 911 is a state-of-the-art 24/7 x 365 operation, answering both 911 and 10 digit emergency calls as well as texts from the public and dispatching an appropriate level of response based on protocols provided by and agreed to by law enforcement, fire services, and Medic One.
